JOB SUMMARY AND SCOPE

The Senior Plant Controller is responsible for planning and coordinating plant budget and business planning activities for main production sites in Terranuova Bracciolini, Vimercate and Bangalore (India), in alignment with corporate policies and practices. He/She will act as a business partner to Managers to develop a business model and optimize financial performance; he/she will support effective business decisions by monitoring, analyzing, and interpreting financial data in order to evaluate various business alternatives and recommend the most appropriate business solutions.

ACTIVITIES

  • Contribute to the definition of the strategy for the Line of business, translate strategy into business plans and establish measurable targets;
  • Oversee the business planning and forecasting process for the area of responsibility and serve as the interface to CFO/BU/Country Managers. 
  • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, G/L, Inventory/Cost Accounting and Revenue Recognition;
  • Manage month-end closing and prepare monthly financial statements and other operational reports for sites;
  • Analyze variances and communicates explanations to management, recommends and implements programs to support and implement productivity, increase efficiency and reduce costs;
  • Prepare forecasts of income statement, balance sheets, and statement of cash flows for the local Plant and for warehouses, both in Italy and abroad;
  • Assess business risk exposure and define risk mitigation strategies to reduce impact on business performance;
  • Must work across organization boundaries and all levels of the company to achieve plant, country or corporate objectives;
  • Collaborates with Senior Management both in the Plant, in HQ and WW to explain results, make improvements, manage projects, identify inefficiencies, understand operations and lead the development of complex analysis;
  • Monitor and implement plant internal controls (in conjunction with corporate policies) as necessary to ensure reporting integrity, safeguard company assets, and identify risks;
  • Ensures proper accounting in accordance with Italian and International Accounting Principles as well as local statutory requirements;
  • Integrates and trains new staff while leading the continued professional development of the existing team;
  • Shares best practices across global finance team, e.g. process improvements, financial modeling and procedures changes;
  • Provides proactive / unsolicited consultation, interpretation and education of complex financial and operational matters to various departmental leaders used to drive business decisions.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
MUST HAVE 

  • Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques as well as proficiency with financial statement analysis and projection;
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP and Italian GAAP;
  • SAP
  • Demonstrated expertise in MS Office and ORACLE financial software.
