FIMER powers maximum petrol pumps in the state of Gujarat & Maharashtra in India.
FIMER installed over 500 kWp Rooftop Solar System power plants at various petrol pumps in Gujarat, Rajasthan & Maharashtra in partnership with Zodiac energy system, one of India’s top EPC players in the C&I segment.
India has over sixty thousand petrol pumps spread across the length and the breath of the country. Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) is an Indian government owned leading oil and gas explorer & producer.
All these petrol pumps typically have empty rooftop space which can be converted to rooftop plants. In some petrol pumps located far from the city, even ground mounted solar plants are installed. Installing a solar plant enables savings on electricity costs along with providing clean green energy. In India, many attractive schemes are also propagated through government state agencies to encourage adoption of solar energy.
From an operational point of view as well, reliable power supply is critical for smooth functioning of fuel pumps. In the event of a power cut, the dispenser instantly shuts down, resulting in loss of fuel, money and time for the pump operators. Most fuel pumps run on a 24x7 operations format, therefore, efficient and reliable power management is of paramount importance. With ever-rising electricity and fuel costs, all businesses including fuel pumps are always under pressure to control operating costs.
To combat growing operating costs, adoption of renewable energy like solar power has proven to be not only cheaper than grid electricity but also a reliable source of power, helping with higher efficiencies and reduced downtimes.
Zodiac Energy has installed over 500KWp Rooftop solar plants in various petrol pumps belonging to IOCL. Most of the inverters installed in these pumps have been supplied by FIMER, Italian inverter manufacturer.
Some of these installations are at Ahmedabad, Palanpur, Gandhinagar etc. with 500 kWp of Solar PV plant, avg annual generation will be 9,00,000 units (kWh) and CO2 emissions reduced approx. 730 tons per year.
Recently, FIMER has supplied its PVS800-1MW X 4 nos to IOCL Rawara, Jodhpur, Rajasthan through Zodiac energy.
